Syracuse Area Guide
Explore our area around the Hampton Inn® hotel in Syracuse-Carrier Circle I-90, and you'll likely come away with a newfound appreciation for our city on the south end of Lake Onondaga. Our area has an ancient history—Native American tribes lived here and created a culture that lingers to this day. The game of lacrosse, for instance, was a game invented by Native Americans and was sometimes used in the place of battle. The Erie Canal was another major turning point in the history of the area around our hotel. In Syracuse, you'll find the canal's halfway point along with the Erie Canal Museum. For some culture, buy a ticket to see a play at Syracuse Stage, a professional stage that has produced more than 220 plays since 1974. Or swing by the Landmark Theatre, a former movie palace (opened in 1928) that now stages concerts, plays and comedians. Both venues are less than eight miles from our hotel.
